A study published in 2007 found that the benefits of cold showers can even lower levels of depression, and some people say more effective than antidepressants.
Another study in 1993 said it can strengthen your immunity system by increasing the amount of white blood cells in your body, the same study found that men who took cold showers caused an increase in testosterone production.
But there is an extremely important benefit of cold showers, is about people really haven’t talked about, and this is the ability to train yourself to consistently get outside of your comfort zone.
Get out of your comfort zone
Let’s imagine a circle, inside the circle is everything that you’ve ever accomplished, experienced and dealt with.
Things that you are comfortable doing, like crossing the street or using the microwave.
These are things that you are confident in doing, these things don’t scare you, they don’t bother you, they don’t make you think twice before you do it, these things are inside your comfort zone.
Now everything outside is an absolute different story, you start sweating, you start fidgeting, you start doubting yourself.

Your body naturally fears the cold and this is something that takes a very long time to get used to. So every time you step into your shower and you look at the knob you can feel the fear.
The excuses as to why you shouldn’t be doing this that pushing into your mind, all of the little reasons why this is not a good idea.
This is equivalent to the same fear that you feel when you are approached by the idea of taking on that new hobby that you found yourself interested in, the idea of going to the gym, the idea of making a lifestyle change, the idea of asking for a raise at work.
See, when you take cold showers, your training as a muscle allows you to say, so what if I’m scared? So what if I’m shaking? I am still going to push on.
This is the same muscle but please how far you can make it in life. So will you be stuck to your tiny little comfort zones? Always scared of the Unknown?
